I just downloaded all of the sources to mg 2a. I'll compile a version
and upload it (give me a few days).

Anyone have any idea of the main differences between 1b and 2a ??

| There are some release notes that I'll upload. A few minor features
were added and some bugs were removed.
An important bug was fixed. If a line of text is bigger than the display
screen, the line will now horizontally scroll as you move along it.
Unfortunately for Arexx types, version 2a does not seem to have Arexx
support. I believe that work was done by someone who never merged it
with the official sources.

1587.4 | Another flavor of Amigemacs | SSDEVO::YESSE | Computing at 6200 ft. | Tue Aug 16 1988 14:47 | 8 |
| FWIW, I recently switched my Emacs from mg1b to the MicroEmacs found in
note 1562 (on MIDEVL::DECUS:[VAXT88A.VAX88A4.RCAS88.AMIGA]). It's a bit
larger, about 190 blocks or so, but seems to have all the bells & whistles
needed for Emacs. Customization is a breeze (see the documentation).
I'd recommend checking it out.

1587.5 | Can we get mg1b first ? | TEDDY::MYEE | weave it from moonbeams and starlight... | Thu Aug 18 1988 16:14 | 9 |
|
Can someone upload mg1b while mg2a is cooking? Mg1b sounds like
a great editor. Please keep shareware and freeware alive!! BTW:
I have the Boing machine from one of the Amicus disk if anyone is
interested (and it is not on the net). Boing Machine is a really
neat Sculpt-3d animation of the Amiga Boing ball going through a
Rube Goldberg contraption.

1587.7 | MG 2a Available | TLE::RMEYERS | Randy Meyers | Thu Aug 18 1988 17:27 | 18 |
| I've finally got mg 2a uploaded (via Kermit). The files are:
TLE""::C2$:[RMEYERS.MG2A]
MG2A-DOS.SHAR;1 MG2A.ARC;1 MG2A.FIX;1 MG2A.SH1;1
MG2A.SH10;1 MG2A.SH11;1 MG2A.SH12;1 MG2A.SH13;1
MG2A.SH14;1 MG2A.SH15;1 MG2A.SH2;1 MG2A.SH3;1
MG2A.SH4;1 MG2A.SH5;1 MG2A.SH6;1 MG2A.SH7;1
MG2A.SH8;1 MG2A.SH9;1
Total of 18 files.
MG2A.ARC contains the executable plus three doc files. The *.SH* files
contain the original source distribution from usenet.
I built the executable with all features enabled. A fun feature is that
if you click the mouse in the lower left corner, the Emacs window is
iconified.

1587.8 | keypad mapping | ANT::SMCAFEE | Steve McAfee | Wed Aug 24 1988 17:31 | 6 |
|
Is it possible to bind the keypad keys without messing up other
numeric characters in mg2a? The method used for keymapping probably
precludes this but I thought I'd ask...

1587.9 | So you want EDT mode... | TLE::RMEYERS | Randy Meyers | Thu Aug 25 1988 16:11 | 7 |
| Re: .8
Try it and see.
I think the mg2a does its own keymapping, so if you want to edit
the source you can make it distinguish between the keypad and the
normal digit keys.
