1559.0. "Amiga on Computer Chronicals" by LEDS::ACCIARDI (I Blit, therefore I am...) Sun Jul 24 1988 14:19

    Well I'll be damned! The Computer Chronicles (not the Computer
    Show) had an entire episode devoted to our favorite computer.

    The host introduced the Amiga 500 as the best computer value on
    the entire market. They even remembered to mention multitasking!

    The show started with Interceptor running (good chioce) and then
    went on to demos of Microillusion's Photon Animation series and
    Digiview. They then spent some time looking at medical applications.

    The segment ended with a very impressive demo of NewTek's Video
    Toaster board. They were showing amazing special effects, like
    those done on $100,000 ADO systems.

    All in all, a very fair open minded review of the current state
    of the Amiga.  Well, the host had to get in one good natured jab;
    he referred to the Amiga as '...the Rodney Dangerfield of computers;
    it don't get no respect."

    Hi, not to burst you bubble, but that was a re-run. I remember
    seeing that show sometime here in Chicago around Feb. or so. I
    noticed that they were into re-runs and wanted to tape it again.

    Hi I'm a new guy on the block, and I was wondering if
    that show was going to be rebroadcast?

1559.3AMIGA ON T.V.CGHUB::NYEMon Aug 08 1988 20:3529
                            The AMIGA ON T.V.

    The AMIGA was featured on Business Week this week end. I was featured
    as a low cost graphics workstation. Max Toy was interviewed about
    the AMIGA 2000. They showed some of the BADGE KILLER DEMO winners,
    KAKNANAS, BOING MACHINE, and the winner; the one with the robot
    shooting hoop(I can't remenber the name). They compared the AMIGA
    to a 50 or $60,000 graphic workstation vary favorably. They also
    mentioned the MAC II (very briefly).
    	This is the kind of big time non-computer program reviews that
    the AMIGA has to have. It gets other people who are not computer
    geeks that could definatly use the machine interested and reaches
    more of an audience. I think Max should blitz the airwaves with
    this kind of (free) advertising (sp). We should also write some
    realy nasty letters to the COMPUTER CRONICALS and get some air time
    to rebut some of the total garbage they have on there show. These
    people are really biased toward IBM (clones) and the MAC. When
    the person who does the software reviews is show the Software review
    logo is shown on an AMIGA not a MAC II. Where is the JUSTICE????

    				Sorry about the flame, I had a bad weekend.

Re: .3

About that SNHAUG meeting this Saturday. I have the Computer Chronicles
show on the Amiga (they were very favorable) on videotape. I can bring
it to the meeting and show it if you like. (It's about 20 minutes long.)

Do you have a VCR?
