| I too have THEXEDER. I wouldn't recommend it! It slows down like
a ported version. I wish there was a two-tier pricing for these
ported games with ports at $25 and Amiga unique at the higher price.
P.s. My video store is now renting Ninetendo games. Is this something
new?

You can rent MAC and IBM software out of the back of most of the
major rags. They send you original documentation and everything.
Most major ($300+) titles can be rented for about 10-15% of the
retail cost. Sounds like a pirates dream. Fortunately, we haven't
seen this yet for the amiga. Piracy is bad enough as it is...
Sorry for the diversion.

I'm getting killed there too. Never seen so many nasties in one
place. Have you been hunting for the hidden critters? Some build
up your shields, but one is extremely nasty.
I assume there is some trick to getting thru there. Just haven't
found it so far.

I agree, a good port. You can tell it was first done
on an Apple by the colors used and the screen updating. But on
the other hand... I've seen lots worse native Amiga games.
my pet peeve is the startup that asks you to insert disks and
then click on a close gadget. Nice of them to let you run off
of a work disk, but why not "press any key to continue" or "hit
fire button to continue"? I play this game with a joystick, NOT
a mouse.

Dave how do you create a work disk? I did not see anything in the
documentation about this.

| re: .5, I didn't try to to create a work disk. The prompting for
the original disk and the play disk implied they were using a key
disk protection scheme. Maybe they put a readme file on the disk?
I just used Marauder II to make a backup copy.

Dave, How good does Marauder II work ?

| It's only as good as the latest parameter file. Guess how new
programs test if the protection scheme is good enough...
It can reproduce strange tracks, sometimes that is enough to let
you backup disks protected against the "diskcopy" crowd.
I don't remember exactly how I backed it up, will check. The
protection is still on the backup, I hear the disk head stepping
across the disk.

1406.9 | It's a tough one | TRUMAN::LEIMBERGER | | Wed Jun 22 1988 06:35 | 12 |
| I run into problems at this point also. Before I reach this point
I have found the hidden nasties, worked my enmax up to well over
200,with energy to match.I can enter the large void quickly, zoom
down and get into the chambers beneath the entry point but after
that I am faced with "the void".The approach I am going to try next
is to fly into the void then exit in hopes of getting some of those
suckers to follow.(divide and conquer) The wall on the other side
also proves to be a problem. One should be able to blow away the
very top and sneak through, leaving nasties behind.Has anyone found
out what the hidden nastie is that is in the lower left corner of
this death pit.

| I have finished level 2.what you want to do is make sure you have
got all possible enmax and energy before leaving a level. If you
have 99% energy and 100% enmax don,t shoot any energy giving critters
until you have raised your enmax.at that time go back and absorb
as much energy as possible.i try to have as much as possible when
I enter the large space on level 2.I drop down and get the hidden
nastie in the lower left corner.stay as close to the wall as possible
and still be able to blast the wall away. After this turn and walk
toward the center slowly.when you have advanced a short way you
will be attacked.I found it is better to keep a constant shield
up(10 enengry points per shield) than to lose energy without them.
you should be able to eliminate the nasties withen 2 shields.
