1388.0. "Amiga 500 Power connector?" by DPDMAI::ANDERSONA () Sat Apr 30 1988 16:18

I have been looking for a source for the Square power connector
used on the Amiga 500. I am building a disk drive box and would
like to power the Amiga from the the same power supply. I have
been looking over the magazines and local electronic stores and
I have had no luck at all. I would hate to chop up the existing
power cable but it is beginning to look like I may have to. If
any one has had the opertunity to purchase one in the past could
you drop me a lead as to where you got it.

    Thanks in advance
    Alan

If the plug is molded into the cord, you might contact a local
Commodore repair facility and have them order you a new cord and
connector. A call to CBM's main number in Westchester will get you
the name of your local repair facility.

If your junking the original A500 supply, just cut the cable and connector
from it.

I was thinking of keeping the old supply as an emergency spare.
But that is probably what I would end up doing. The local repair
centers don't service Amiga's only C64's and 128's. The local
electronic wholesellers tell me to go to a computer supply store.
The local computer supply stores only supply I*M and clones. The
two computer stores in town that sell Amiga's send broken ones out
and they have no idea where to get one.

Now where did I put my wire cutters?

    Thanks for your responses
