I've noticed that there are a lot of sixel files out there on the ENET. I wanted to download them to my AMI using either Xmodem or Kermit but have noticed that the file structure is not the form I expect for an arc file. For file format the file is defined as: VFC, 2 byte header, maximym 83 bytes (as opposed to fixed or stream_lf for arc files) Can somebody give me some hints on how to download a file with this format? (the file is MMMMAX.SVT by the way, for Max Headroom)

Sixel files can be treated a standard ASCII files. In fact, if you get ambitious, edit one and look at it! John | |||||

But if you want to download it to display on Amy, then you have asked the wrong question. You need to convert it to IFF. (But I haven't heard of a SIXEL to IFF converter.) If you do that on the vax, then you probably want to archive the result before downloading it. If you want to do the conversion on the Amiga you should be able to download the sixel file as text.
