you need CVTARC and VMSSWEEP.
"CVTARC V filename" will convert the ARC to something VMSSWEEP can read.
VMSSWEEP lists the files by number & truncates the name. It lets
you extract the files by number. You might need to use the K option,
I think that was the one that had to do with CR/LF treatment.
both are in BAGELS::USER1$:[BRANNON.UNPACK]
have fun,

1305.2 | VAXzap will do the trick | LOWLIF::DAVIS | That's not a BUG, it's a FEATURE! | Wed Apr 06 1988 01:31 | 7 |
| Hi Bob,
If that doesn't work, I have a filezap utility that I call VAXzap that
will fix it for sure (I did the same thing a couple of times!). You can
edit the arc file and put a NULL byte in what should be the last character
of the filename and all will be well. Let me know if you need it.

VMSSWEEP has done the trick. By the way, the "K" option was required.
As for VAXzap....I may have need of something like that in the near
future. It sounds like it has the potential to repair a couple
of other corrupted files that I have floating about and haven't
got to repairing yet.
Thanks for all your help.

1305.4 | No BATCH? | TEACH::BOB | Bob Juranek EKO/339-4312 | Wed Apr 06 1988 18:16 | 11 |
| re: .3
I forgot to mention/ask. Is there any reason why VMSSWEEP will
not run properly in BATCH mode? I set up a job to extract the files
and VMSSWEEP errors out on the extract portion saying something
about "Undefined Logical Name..." I don't remember exactly.
Just curious.
