Quick question:........
Have the game Destroyer by EPYX. Try to run game
with two disc drives on a 512K Miga with 1.2. Get out of memory
window. Is there any way to use software to disable the recognition
of the external drive (ala addbuffers df1: -X; where x is some value
designed to subtract buffers).
Incedentaly, the game works fine with one disc connected.
Disconnecting drives is a pain in the ...neck...
By the way, need help soon. The kids love this game
and I don't like constantly having to unplug the drive.

No. You can't get those buffers back. But memory expansion isn't
that bad.... And it has other benefits!

re: -.1
I realize that there is no way to GET THEM BACK. My question is,
is there a way to keep them from getting allocated in the first
place, either by doctoring KS or the bootblock of the game disk
itself?
Right now, memory expansion is out of the question until K.O. gives
me a raise. (although it is high on my list of goodies)

I don't think it's legal, but you can try changing the mountlist
entry. If you put 1 or 0 buffers, who knows what may happen!

maybe a hardware fix that does the equivalent of unpluging the drive
using a switch on some enable line? just guessing, but I suspect
EPYX copy protects the game and its a boot disk - that makes a
software fix not easy.
