I'm finally dabbling with Sculpt 3D. I made some pictures this weekend (you know, the standard reflecting spheres, diamonds etc..) When they look reasonable I'll upload them for laughs... Anyway, I've seen the "glass" picture and others on DEC (UIS) workstations. Are these really UIS images which were converted to IIF for Amiga consumption, or (and here's the $20,000 question) is there a program floating around which will convert IIF pics (from Sculpt 3D) to UIS renderable files? re: .0 The original ray-tracer code was for UIS and is available on VMS (lots of pictures have been done with it). A while back I took the basic ideas and wrote DBW_Render for the Amiga. At the time it used the same input file format, so many of the pictures are the same. Then I wrote a version to run on VMS and ULTRIX that still generates IFF, I also wrote an IFF to X windows conversion utility. Sorry, but I never got around to writing a UIS -> IFF -> UIS utility... I never needed one. | |||||

Hi Dave, Can you give pointers to this program? (VMS DBW_render creating IFF pictures ..) Thanx Phil |
