In Volume 3 Number 3 of "Amazing Computing" (I hate magazines that
don't use months!) on page 98 there is an ad for "Age of Sail" by
Conflict Recreations, Inc. It's a multi-player game that
allows up to 40 ship captains to play via electronic bulletin boards
(BBS), direct connect modems, or using one computer. Designed for
play on differing computers, ASII files with game data can be sent
to anyone, anywhere via modems.
"Age of Sail faithfully recreates sailing allowing one degree turns
and speed changes of one knot. Positions are calculated with 64
bit accuracy to ensure ship movement even when drifting in low velocity
winds"
This sounds interesting. I wonder if we could obtain enough of the
source to build a message exchange that uses the EASYnet instead
of a BBS. They don't have a phone number in the ad but they do list
Email address on Compuserve, PLINK and BIX. Would anyone be willing
to send them a mail message on one of those services asking about
implementation details? I think this would be neat!

Has anyone seen this program running? Where? Was it anygood?
Our users group is interested in starting a BBS and we would like
to have this game on it, if it is any good. We fell for Pirates
on the IBM, good playing game took 6 weeks to get to be the Big
Cheese on the High Seese.
