Benchmarks are roughly 7 to 9 times faster then an xt. Currently I am working with Applied Reasoning to add greater flexability and compatability to the board when used with the 2088. FAST! [...] A few minor additions. I use the PC-Elevator with the 80387 option and 1 meg of ram. Don't know for sure, but I believe that this product is available now. Since the Elevator does not interfere with existing processors, it is (sort of) intuitive that it should have no problem with the 80286 bridgeboard. Speculation. The Elevator runs at 16 MHz, and has 100 nsec RAM with no wait states. MIPS (hah) is 3.4, while the Norton Index is 18.7. Really seemed to perk up my 2000...only slow stuff are screen and disk I/O, but you can still see a heck of an improvement, especially graphics. Currently their software revision is V1.1, and it allows the use of the jdisk utilities and 2088 memory access. For more information, contact Applied Reasoning at 86A Sherman St., Cambridge, MA 02140 617-492-0700. An article on their product appears in _PC_Magazine_, October 27, 1987. Oh, BTW, I have no interest financially in their product or company, other than as a satisfied [ab]user. |
