Hi, this is my *proposed* system, I will be ordering it next week. I'd *really*
appreciate it if anyone has any comments on the following that might prevent me
making an expensive mistake! Please reply offline to NMGV04::KENNEDY (unless
you think other noters might benefit from your advice).
A2000 1MB (is it worth getting the extra 3.5 drive?)
20mb Hard disk
1084 Monitor (apart from the Sony, is there a better model? I've
read of a CBM hi-res that doesn't have the interlace
problems. Does the 1084 have stereo?)
Colour Printer (still not sure on this, I want good colour and speed
at the �400 [$550] level - any recommendations?)
Superbase Professional
Maxiplan +
Prowrite
Lattice C 4.0
DPaint II
Some games...
I'm an applications programmer (COBOL, Pascal & FORTRAN) and intend to use
my system for business usage (30%), fun (40%) and the rest spent on serious
development. To this end, I'd also appreciate some recommendations on the
'essential' reading matter that I should have.
I've spent quite some time in reading the entries in this conference and am
*really* looking forward to using a lot from it - and hopefully contributing
a lot back!

Since your'e getting a hard disk, probably not. But for the extra price
compared to the rest of the system (close to negligable), why not?!

DEC makes an LA75 class color printer (LJ250). Employee purchase might get it
for a decent price. 255 colors, 90 CPS, 167 CPS (burst).
