| Me too. This is getting to be a bad joke: Whenever I receive anything
from comp.binaries.amiga or comp.sources.amiga that's broken into
"n" pieces, I ALWAYS get n-1 of them. I have here a directory full
of all but one piece of almost everything that's been posted.
(Actually, I get frustrated and delete it all after a while).
I spent most of last night downloading VT100 V2.8 sources parts
1-4 and binaries parts 1 and 2, only to discover after the fact
that I'm missing part 3 (which is the second part of the executable).
Granted, I could possibly reconstruct the mess out of the source,
but I only have Lattice 3.03, meaning major pain in the backside
resulting in an executable that's 50% larger than rational explanation.
Anyone have the missing half of the executable? Please??

Sorry Paul, I checked your copy day before yesterday it is is only the first
half of the binary. It was in two parts that needed to be concatenated and
then UUDECODED. I only got part one also. :-(

| I dunno. I did a DIR of pauly"amiga"::vt100v28.uue, and it's almost
exactly twice as big as the half of the binary I got, so it must
have another half of something.
Couldn't copy it for some reason, though...

| So why are we sitting here complaining about it? In the past, I have
had good luck sending mail to the moderators asking for a repost.
All you need to say is something like "blah blah part 3 did not
arrive at this site and probably did not arrive at the DECWRL::
gateway. Please repost." Send to DECWRL::"comp.binaries.amiga@usenet"
The troika of moderators have made a real effort to respond to requests
of this type. How about one of you sends a message and reports
the results back to this note?

1211.6 | The PAULY executable is only the 1st half | COOKIE::WECKER | A wholly owned subsidiary of DEC | Thu Mar 03 1988 15:56 | 8 |
| re: .4
It's twice the size because it is a SHAR file that contains the DOCS along
with the first part of the UUE file... in other words.. no dice!
P.S. The sources WERE posted... I'm just too lazy to recompile them. If no
one gets the executable I will rebuild it (if necessary).

Re.6
Seems like vt100 v2.8 won't be re-posted. Could you
please rebuild from the sources ? Or anybody else ? I don't have
a C compiler. Thanks.

This a quick information notice about vt100 2.8 that we posted recently.
It seems that *unshar* can't deal with the shar properly -- it dosen't
remove the leading 'X' on each line. sh, however, has no problem with the
shar. The binaries are still retrievable by deleting the leading 'X' with
an editor before uudecoding (at least, it uudecodes to the correct number
of bytes).
I've fixed (reshar'ed) the copies in the archives, but I'm not going to
repost them since any editor will fix them, and sh still does them correct.

don't bother, Dave doesn't have complete sources either.
It only has makefile, expand.c, init.c, kermit.c, remote.c
script.c and vt100.h. You still need window.c, xmodem.c
and a few others I don't remember right now.
