1171.0. "just for ZOO" by CGOU01::OAKLEY (Sps Guy II) Mon Feb 15 1988 13:37
For anybody interested, you can find a Backup Saveset of VMS ZOO
and accompanying sources thereof as well as a program called Fix
(which will create a 512 fixed file from a specified input).
I have tried VOOZ (what they call it) under uVMS 4.7 and found that
it works great at extracting files from a .zoo file. I have been
told that this version will not create a zoo file but have not tried
it myself. The sources are in C so if it won't do what you want
you can change it.
In addition you can find a program called CHANGEFILE.EXE which will
take any RMS input file and allow you to specify the output file's
record size, record format and file format, very useful in changing
those stream_lf files with no record type into a cr record type
which VMS editors like. This utility was written by Steve Drew
and we have found it quite useful not only for Amiga type files.
Now, where to find it, until further notice try:
CGOU01::ZOO.BCK - for VOOZ and FIX
CGOU01::CHANGEFILE.EXE - for Steve's utility
