OK. Look for WJG::AMIGA:FF119.ARC *tomorrow*.
I used Pack-It to copy the entire disk to a file. Then tried to arc it
several ways and couldn't find enough space anywhere on my Amiga (1 meg, 2
drives) for ARC to do it's thing... So After I woke up a 1:00am and found my
last attempt failed, I decided to upload it to the microVAX and ARC it there
(with Pack-It) and then bring it into work and post it (which I'll do tonight)

It's there. This file is huge! If you're not a lucky person w/ lots of RAM
or a hard disk, you'll need to DL this to FLOPPY. Then unARC it to another
floppy then unPACK it to yet another: (You'll need 3 BLANK floppies and 2
drives)
Download FF120.ARC to a floppy
copy ARC, COPY and CD to RAM:
put a BLANK floppy in DF0:, and the FF120.ARC in DF1:
from a CLI window type:
RAM:CD DF0:
RAM:ARC -e DF1:FF120.ARC
this will put FF120.PAK and PACK-IT on DF0:
put DF) disk (unARCed files) into DF1: and put a BLANK floppy in DF0:
now type:
RAM:CD DF0:
RAM:COPY DF1:PACK-IT RAM:
RAM:PACK-IT r DF1:FF120 DF0:
I don't remember the syntax of PACK-IT, but you want it to unpack DF1:FF120
to DF0: Type RAM:PACK-IT first and let it tell you the exact syntax.
This all takes awhile so be patient...
Also, PLEASE note that ARC and PACK-IT are shareware and thier authors would
like a little support $! (in fact I think PACK-IT had some other doc files
I was supposed to put in so If I screwed up, let me know!!!)
This is my first shot at this (UL whole floppies) so if anyone has trouble,
yell!

I'd be happy to put 119 up if there's interest?
BTW - Maybe Scott or Steve would put this stuff on MVCAD3 with the rest
of Fred's collection?

AAAARRRRGGGGGHHHHH!!!! :-)
Hi John. I really appreciate the time you've taken to upload FF120. My local
dealer doesn't seem to get many of the fish series very promptly. Only problem
is: I have an A2000 with one drive! (boo hoo) I'm getting a ProDrive as soon
as Abel gets their shipment it...
Anyway, why didn't you go with the tracker format like the NewTek Demo reels?
I was able to get them dowloaded with no problems. I have FF120 un-arced on
one floppy, but NOW what do I do? I need a second drive to unpack it to, don't
I? Hmmmmm, maybe this will wait for a while... In the future, at least think
about maybe using TRACKER. (Unless I'm the only one in this predicament)
Thanks again,
...richard

re .9
Sorry! I agree with you on using tracker 100% !!!
After dealing with pack-it ALL night, I couldn't figure out
why I used it on a full disk (it's a nice utility for
smaller stuff where your trying to maintain directories
without taking a track-for-track image of the floppy
as tracker does)...
I'll do one with tracker and post it...
But you won't see it till Monday or Tuesday.
re .10
I have plenty of space on WJG:: if you run out.

1157.12 | PACK-IT error with FF120 | PUERTO::ALVAREZ | Miguel,from sunny Puerto Rico | Sun Feb 14 1988 21:47 | 9 |

Has anybody succesfully un-packed FF120.PAK ?? I was able to
download and un-arc on my AMIGA FF120.ARC, but when running PACK-IT
I get a "DISK DATA CORRUPT" and it aborts, right after unpacking
the AMOEBA directory.
Do I have a bad copy ??
Thanks for your help.

That very well could be. After finally getting it PACKed, I never tried to
un pack it to check. I didn't get any errors while packing it so I
hoped it was OK.
I'm still feeling quite stupid about using packit after seeing how big
the file was. I'll use TRACKER tonight (homework permitting) and upload a
useable version of FF120...

Sounds like I had the exact same problem when I downloaded FF119.
Same message. Same location (Just as it finished amoeba.arc).

Well, I sorry for all the trouble (Steve's got this stuff down...)
I used TRACKER last night and all went real well...
Copy FF120.ARC from WJG::AMIGA: again. I did it in 20 track chunks
which, when un-ARCed, are about 213K
