I just received a brochure of an offer for buying 68020 & family chips at a very reasonable price, and thought somebody might be interested. The offer is this: For $399 you get a 68020 CPU, 68881 FP, 68851 MMU, enough static RAMs for 4Kx32 bits (at 35ns cycle time), 11 channel A/D converter chip set (145040 & 41) with serial interface port, complete user's manual, technical summaries, engineering bulletins, brochures, article reprints and a microphotograph of the 68020 chip. This offer is from Hamilton/Avnet, so contact you nearest representative and ask for the Motorola MC68020KIT. I can send a copy of the brochure via interoffice if anyone is interested. Miguel A. Looks like the price has come down... Herewith from Usenet: Newsgroups: comp.sys.amiga Path: decwrl!labrea!rutgers!mit-eddie!uw-beaver!tektronix!uunet!kitrain!amgraf!huver Subject: Followup to Chuck's Amiga 1500 proposal Posted: 9 Jul 88 16:05:06 GMT Organization: Amgraf, Inc. Yesterday I received a pamphlet from Hamilton/Avnet, announcing the 68020 Design Kit. The kit includes: 1. 68020, '881 and '851, all 16.67MHz parts; 2. 8 M6268P35 CMOS 4K static ram (35ns) chips; 3. MC145040 and MC145041; 4. manuals, tech. notes, engineering bulletin, reprints etc. Single set price is $329.50. 5-9 sets $309.50/ea, 10+ sets $289.50/ea. This kind of promotion says 32-bit computing is definitely affordable. ["Amiga 1500" wishlist deleted.] -huver {uunet!kitrain, plus5}!amgraf!huver |
