1147.0. "Help on processing keyboard input" by TOOTER::RIES (Frank W. Ries Jr.) Mon Feb 08 1988 20:16
Could some of you Amiga wizards out there lend me some help on doing keyboard
input on the Amiga? I am working on a program where I need to be able to
process "special" keyboard keys. Mainly, the top row of keypad keys on the
A500/A2000 keyboard. If I just open up the console, it seems that these keys
will just return their main keyboard equivalents. I need to be able to
distinguish them. I know I can open the keyboard in RAW mode, or get the
keyboard events via the IDCMP, but that means I'd have to process all the
keys that way (seems like a pain). Is there some reasonable way of doing
this? Also, if someone has some code, or can point me to some code for
processing raw keyboard events I would sure appreciate it.
Thanks in advance,
Frank Ries

1147.1 | FF05 has it... | ELWOOD::PETERS | | Tue Feb 09 1988 01:44 | 8 |

Again Fred Fish can help. FF05 has examples of three types of
terminal I/O ( console, RAW keyboard, IDCMP ). I will upload this
disk as soon as possible ( Tuesday night ).
