1137.1 | I figured it out but... | MAADIS::WICKERT | MAA DIS Consultant | Fri Feb 05 1988 10:14 | 17 |

Oh geeezzz...
I had exactly the same problem and after much trail and error (about
2 days worth!) I came up with the right solution. I have it written
down at home (of course!) but won't have time to enter something
here until Sunday.
In the meantime, I think you need an extra keystroke in the sequence.
If I remember correctly you have to hit [E] before you remove the
FS disk and then again after you put in the Scenery disk.
If you don't come up with the right sequence by Sunday I'll put
something in for you.

Ok. I can't read replies 2 and 3 so I'm going to assume you're still
having trouble.
I know this sounds strange but it works...
1. Set desired position (from maps that came with Scenary Disk 7)
2. Hit [E]
3. Take out FS disk and put in scenary disk
4. Set position AGAIN
5. Hit [E] twice
6. Exit from set position menu
I just verified that this actually works.
After you crash to restart you need to reset the position and hit
[E] twice again.

Well, It seems that you are luckier than me Ray. I have tried that
sequence for one hour without any success. Sob Sob..
Thank you anyway

1137.6 | Try these... | MAADIS::WICKERT | MAA DIS Consultant | Tue Feb 09 1988 14:02 | 17 |

Hmmmmm...
I did it myself, just to make sure!
I used North 16135.00
East 20192.00
Alt. 16.00
Make sure you use the .00 and wait for all disk activity to finish
before taking out the FS disk...
I'll run through it again and see if I can come up with any tell-tale
signs that we can use to debug your sequence.

1137.7 | Version Mismatch ?! | GVAADG::PERTOSO | Marco Pertoso, Geneva | Thu Feb 11 1988 05:46 | 14 |

Ray,
I called Sublogic yesterday and they told me that it might be a
mismatch between the version of the fs2 disk (1.01) and the
scenery disk #7 version (1.1). They decided to send me the new
version of the flight simulator (1.1).
I don't know what is your versions. If they are the same as mine
I thing i'll be in trouble!!:-)
Marco.

1137.10 | Finally I got it ! | GVAADG::PERTOSO | Marco Pertoso, Geneva | Fri Feb 26 1988 03:10 | 21 |

Dave, Ray,
I have just received the new version of the flight simulator
from Sublogic and everything works fine.
In this version to load the scenery disk i had to follow this
procedure :
1) Press [E] key with the fs2 disk in the drive.
2) Insert sd7 disk as prompted by the screen.
3) Click the left mouse button to continue.
4) set position. (set altitude to 0).
advice: set also the tower position.
Dave, I backup the the scenery disk with Marauder2.
Thank you to both of you for your help.
Marco.
