I'm opening this topic as suggestions to Steve for the next version of shell (v 2.08). A couple of things I'd like to see: o An option on the 'dir' command to display an unsorted directory for the sake of speed. o A dump command or type option that displays a hex dump of a file. Steve, thanks for a great utility. I couldn't survive with one drive with- out it. Ok, ok, I still *NEED* another drive real, _real_ soon. I hope we don't swamp you with ideas - I know how hard time is to come by! ...richard

-< Shell 2.08 WishList >- o An option on the 'dir' command to display an unsorted directory for the sake of speed. o A dump command or type option that displays a hex dump of a file. Does steve's shell prevent the use of the usual AmigaDOS commands? (I don't have it, so I don't know...) If not, won't LIST and TYPE OPT H fill these needs? John O | |||||

re "huh?" Well sure, those AmigaDOS commands are just programs, but the beauty of shell is that it doesn't REQUIRE AmigaDOS commands. I'm a poorly one-drive user at this present time and I'm sick to death of disk swapping. I enjoy not having to use the C: commands. ...richard |
