1086.1 | I have one | SSDEVO::YESSE | Computing at 6200 ft. | Tue Jan 19 1988 12:44 | 7 |
| I got one to go with my A2000. It appears to be a small step
above the 2002 monitor, based on my limited exposure to that
monitor at a nearby store. It works fine, graphics are good,
and has all the video inputs you'd need. Don't know how the
dot pitch compares against similar monitors.
I paid $349 locally, you could probably get it for less.

1086.3 | Oz 1084 same?? | RIPPER::PARSONS | | Tue Jan 19 1988 16:51 | 10 |
| Gidday,
They sell a 1084 in Australia, be curious to see if it is
the same one as in US of A. The pitch of the 1084 here is .43mm,
which doesn't compute if wanting to use hi-res. To get 640 dots
across simple maths show you need .38mm pitch or finer. Also it
only has mono sound. Uses that EURO 21 pin rectangular connector
and on a quick try with a SONY hi-res monitor, did not work. Commodore
may be using a non-standard pinout on their RGB cable!

1086.4 | 2002 Better? | 3D::SANBORN | | Mon Jan 25 1988 15:38 | 6 |
| A salesperson at the Electronic Boutique in Nashua said that he
had seen both of them, and said that he thought the 2002 had a
sharper picture. Suprising, since the 2002 is actually cheaper
to buy!

1086.5 | In STEREO, where available | HYSTER::DEARBORN | Trouvez Mieux | Mon Jan 25 1988 16:04 | 2 |
| I believe the 1084 has stereo speakers built in (it's about time!!!).

Not the unit I bought....it just has one speaker on the left. However,
the enclosure has slitted ports on both sides, so maybe some models have
2 speakers installed.

1086.7 | Workable on C128? | 3D::SANBORN | April showers bring May showers | Thu Jun 23 1988 14:22 | 5 |
| Does anyone know if this monitor will work with a C128? I need
a monitor for my C128 system, and would like to buy one that will
eventually work well with an Amiga (when I get there).

1086.8 | YES - C128 compatible | OZZAIB::ROSCETTI | Throw Madonna from the train | Thu Jun 23 1988 15:06 | 11 |

The 1084 will work with the C128. The monitor includes cables for
both the AMIGA and the C128. I currently use it with an AMIGA,
NINTENDO, and an 800XL (just not all at once). It will also accept
Digital RGB as well.
I can't compare it to other monitors though, the only other tube
I've used was a 13" Samsung TV.

1086.9 | 1084S<==>STEREO | LITTL1::HERB | | Sun Sep 18 1988 20:00 | 4 |
| The "1084" does NOT have stereo built in. The new "1084S" DOES have
stereo built in. Went shopping this past weekend (and bought) and
not all dealers showed me the 1084S. Cost was $908.95 (+tax) for
A500 & 1084S. Don't know how that compares.

1086.10 | Anti-Glare screen for 1084 wanted !! | BANKS1::TAYLOR | | Mon Apr 09 1990 12:00 | 9 |
| Does anyone out there have any suggestions as to a cost effective
glare shield for a 1084 Monitor ? The tube is terribly reflective.
I've looked in some office equipment guides but unfortunately the
1084 isn't listed. Any suggestions ?
Thanx,
Todd

1086.11 | | CLO::COBURN | Growing older, but not up... | Mon Apr 09 1990 20:00 | 7 |
| I have seen advertised in several Amiga mags a screen called the
FlickerMaster for about $15.00. This may do what you want as it is a
polarized screen to aid in combatting flicker while in interlace mode.
Note - I don't own one so that is all I know.
