I have not seen any reference to sofware orientated to preschool
children. I was hoping that by now someone would have whipped up
some simple kid's games (speak and spell and identify objects come
to mind) and made them available through public channels as shareware
or whatever.
I think the tools/utility applications have pretty much been covered
and from what I have seen so far (a new user) Amigabasic would be
a great tool for some simple programs for children.
Any pointers or suggestions would be appreciated.
Regards.... Clint

| 1072.1 | Talking Coloring Book | CELSST::FISHER | John Fisher @RTP | DTN 367-4451 | Wed Jan 13 1988 23:05 | 11 |
For the very young...
My daughter plays with the Talking Coloring Book. She started to
play with it at about 2 to 2 1/2 years of age. She is almost 4 and
has started to lose interest in it.
It's not much, but she can handle it by herself. That of course
helps her feel good about her efforts.

| 1072.2 | First Byte & Discovery | PUERTO::ALVAREZ | Miguel,from sunny Puerto Rico | Thu Jan 14 1988 07:49 | 15 |
First Byte has a series of educational games for math, spelling,
geometric shapes, mini-word processor ansd some others. They make
extensive use of the voice synthesis capabilities of the Amiga.
The programs are well done, although a bit slow.
I have the math (MathTalk), mini-word processor (KidTalk) and
the geometric shapes (First Shape) games. I have two kids, four
and eight. First Shape and some games in MathTalk can be enjoyed
by the four year old.
There is also the Discovery Series, I have Discovery Math,
but these are for older kids. If you have any specific questions,
I'll be glad to answer them.

I have several "FirstByte" programs for my daughter, (9 yrs old),
There are spelling games, and Mad-libs. (fill in nouns, adj's, etc)
for a funny story...
If you are not near a computer store, try checking one of the amiga
magazines....
