1067.0. "Washington Post article" by MAADIS::WICKERT (MAA DIS Consultant) Tue Jan 12 1988 22:47

In yesterday's Washington Post's business section there was an half
page article on Personal Computing entitled "Commodore Amiga's Video,
Sound Make It User Friendly and Fun". A quote in bold letters followed
"The Commodore Amiga [is] easily the most technically dazzling personal
computer on the market today and possibly the greatest value." It
goes on to say it's certainly the most fun!

It starts out with a really nice touch...

"The computer trade press is breathless over the long-awaited arrival
of Microsoft's new operating software for the IBM PS/2 personal
computers. OS/2, as it is called, will unlock the power of the newer
    processing chips."

"Instead of a mere 640K of memory, OS/2 will address megabytes of
RAM. Instead of one program at a time, OS/2 will be able to
simultaneously run as many programs as your computer can hold in
memory. Similar capabilities in the new Macintosh II have produced
comparable excitement in the Apple world."

"It might, therefore, surprise many readers that there is a personal
computer that has been doing these things for two years!"

This article talked quite a bit about the video and sound features.
It spent a good deal of it's time talking about games and hardware
but closes with "More about the bridge board and the Amiga as a
business computer in my next column". I'll keep my eyes open for
    the next installment.

Surprise, I just read the credits. It was written by Brit Hume,
the ABC News Capitol Hill correspondent. It says he's the founding
    editor of some computer newsletter.
