1038.0. "Info magazine #18 news" by BAGELS::BRANNON (Dave Brannon) Tue Jan 05 1988 18:13

INFO magazine, #18 Jan/Feb 1988 mentions a few interesting things
in its report on three computer shows:

    from the Commodore Show report:

o a company called BareBoards has bare memory boards for the A1000
      (soon for A500 & A200).
      $79.95 for a bare 4 Meg board
$133 for it with support chips but no RAM
populated boards available in 512K increments
$296 for board populated with 2 Meg RAM

o a company called Bill's Boards has an A2000-style expansion board,
for the A500 with up to 6 Amiga slots, 3 optional bridge slots,
and up to 6 IBM AT compatible slots for $495.95. The board is
designed to fit in a user-supplied baby-AT box & power supply
      (less than $125)

o HyperTek will have a new flicker-free hires monochrome monitor
for $179. Hooks to the RGB port and has an RGB pass-thru for
      your color monitor.

    from the Comdex report:
o Progressive Peripherals & Software demoed some nice new Amiga
products. The EXP-8000+ gives your A500 up to 8 Megabytes
of RAM internally. It uses a new patented low-power design.
      No price mentioned.

The Rumors column also mentioned that CBM was close to releasing
    a new DENISE chip that would provide 640 x 400 non-interlaced video
for all Amiga models. I wish...

Anyone have an address and/or phone for Bareboards and Bill's Boards?
I'd like to find out more about their products. Thanks.
