1013.2 | Me too! | LOWLIF::DAVIS | That's not a BUG, it's a FEATURE! | Mon Dec 28 1987 10:03 | 5 |
| Same here. I've only got parts 2, 3, and 4. I checked out the AMIGA_USENET
conference on YGDRSL to see if I just missed it, but no luck. Maybe it never
got past DECWRL???

I thought I missed part 1 because of my low diskspace but it sounds like
no one got it... Also, it looks like part 1 contained the executable.
Maybe it will filter through sometime during the next few days.

1013.4 | I have Part 1 | CGFSV2::DREW | Steve Drew | Tue Dec 29 1987 11:02 | 11 |
| I manage to obtain part 1 of asteroids from a friend off USENET.
You can copy it from CGFSV1::DISK$73G:[DREW.AMIGA]ASTEROIDS.PART_1
The other 3 parts are there also. I have'nt had time to unshar
them and uudecode them yet.
Enjoy,
/Steve Drew

1013.5 | In an arc format? | CAMTWO::ARENDT | | Tue Dec 29 1987 13:51 | 11 |
| I am fairly new to the amiga and am not yet enrolled in any of the
on-line data services. Therefore I do not know which ones are the
best and I don't know what UNSHAR and UUDECODE (re .4) mean. I
suspect that they mean that I cannot get asteroids till someone
else moves it into an arc format. If anyone would do this you would
have my heartfelt thanks as asteroids has allways been my favorite
arcade game. I will watch this note with anticipation.
Thank you for your support

1013.6 | You have but to ask... | LOWLIF::DAVIS | That's not a BUG, it's a FEATURE! | Tue Dec 29 1987 15:17 | 6 |
| Well I just happen to have ARC'ed it a few minutes ago. You can find it in
MDKCSW::DUA2:[DAVIS.AMIGA]ASTER.ARC. It is in Stream_LF format, so XMODEM
should just love it. I haven't downloaded it yet (that's on my plans for
this evening), but it should work fine. Have fun!

1013.7 | The best thing today! | HSK03::HAKALA | Tuomo Hakala, ES Finland | Tue Dec 29 1987 17:30 | 11 |
| Hooray!!
Guess what, Richie? I and my friend here in cold Finland have
spent last few hours desperately trying to unshar those
damned asteroids.part_*:s with minimal success.
This seems to rescue our day (actually night here)!!
Thanks!

1013.10 | | MEMORY::BERKSON | What's that in the road - a head? | Wed Dec 30 1987 11:07 | 5 |
| There is a one byte difference in size between the two versions.
I tried downloading aster.arc and arc had trouble with it. Hopefully
asteriods will dearc all right.

re: -1
I had no trouble downloading ASTER.ARC with XMODEM. ARC gives a
message at the end of the extraction about a bad header, but this
happens all the time when you use XMODEM on an ARC file.
Thanks to everyone for the help. Nice game. I'm not even close
to getting a free ship...
