905.0. "Hardware Testing equipment needed" by 16BITS::KRUGER () Mon Nov 16 1987 12:10
The 68020 design is progressing nicely. After looking over various
interesting documents, Matt and I sat for 8 hours and did up a DRAM
design. For those who are curious, you can make 16MHz work with
no wait states if you've got 80nS parts, and comfortably tight timing.
If there was a 16MHz 68000, we could use 100nS parts, but in the
quest for the ultimate performance, that wouldn't do anyway. Now
we are faced with the problem of testing. Does anyone out there,
in the New York/Mass/NH area have access to a logic analyzer? We
desperately need one (or rather, we will) I am, for better or worse,
surrounded by software types.
Oh BTW I did find a source of Zorro boards. If you're interested,
send me mail, and I'll dig up the address.

I may be able to borrow a 16 ch analyzer. Give me a call if you still
need it to set up the time you need it in.
