833.1 | The Memory Location -- Wellesley | ULTRA::KINDEL | Bill Kindel @ LTN2 | Wed Oct 21 1987 18:48 | 28 |
| (See also 829.3, et al)
My favo(u)rite place is The Memory Location, in Wellesley.
The Memory Location
396 Washington Street
Wellesley, MA 02181
617/237-6846
From Spit Brook:
- Route 3 south to Route 128 (I95) southbound.
- Route 128 south to Exit 20B (Route 9 westbound).
- Route 9 west to Route 16 (Washington St.) in Wellesley Hills.
(Stay in the right lane. You're not given much notice before
having to exit to the right. You'll be turning left onto Route 16,
which then passes over Route 9.)
- Route 16 west approximately 1/2 mile.
(Watch for the Wellesley Playhouse -- a now-closed theater -- on
the left, just before a traffic light. The Memory Location is in
the group of shops in the next block. There's on-street parking on
the east-bound side of the street and a small lot behind the
building. Since you're headed west, turn left at the light and
park behind the building.)
From Boston:
Get to Route 128 Exit 20B by whatever means you can and follow the
rest of the directions. From downtown Boston, follow Huntington
Ave or Route 1 to Route 9 in Brookline Village, then go west.

833.3 | Blitter Documentation | VIDEO::LEIBOW | | Thu Oct 22 1987 14:03 | 8 |
| I remember reading that too. I believe the Blitter is talked about
in depth in the Hardware Reference Manual and briefly in the Libraries
and Devices manual.
Maybe it was only horizontal and vertical lines. I'll have to dig
out the manuals tonight...

833.5 | Try Omnitek in Salem, NH | ANYWAY::ZIMMERMAN | Fifty years of Spam and nylons | Thu Oct 22 1987 18:42 | 17 |
| Omnitek in Salem, NH, had the lowest price this side of Abel Supply
on a 500 with external disk - $35 less than Memory Location, and no
sales tax. I believe they're selling the 1/2 meg internal memory
board for less than Abel, $125 or something like that. The Salem
store is a branch. The main store is in Tewksbury, MA - that's where
they keep the gurus.
The Salem store is at 78 Main Street. From Boston, go north on 93 to
the Rockingham Park exit in Salem, go past the racetrack to the end
of the road and turn left. Go down the road a couple miles to the
first light and turn left. Omnitek's right there on the left hand
side.
The address of the Tewksbury store is 1300 Main. I've never been
there.

833.6 | Computer Mart: Nashua & Manchstr: Full Price | SIMUL8::STOLLER | Voice, Catch The Wave | Fri Oct 30 1987 09:29 | 6 |
| I called the 800 number from an AMIGA TV ad. They sent me the address
of Computer Mart in Nashua and Manchester. No mention of Omnitek.
I called Computer Mart, they will special order it for you at FULL
LIST PRICE $699.95. There are none in the show room, at least in
nashua where I called. Manchester might have a different policy
for all I know. FYI

| The computer mart really isn't much of an amiga dealer anymore.
They are nearly 100% Apple.

833.9 | Software Shop | BOMBE::MOORE | close B cloths mode on Deputy Dan | Thu Jan 14 1988 04:46 | 22 |
| Having spent considerable time searching for this info, here are
directions to the Software Shop. This seems like a logical place
for it...
(Copied from a reply to an old note on an unrelated topic.)
---------------------------------------------
The Software Shop is on 84 Pleasant St, in Worcester, MA.
Pleasant St. runs perpendicular to Main St and intersects it at
City Hall. Number 84 is on the north side of Main St.
Pleasant St. is one-way at Main St, so you'll have to backtrack.
If you're coming from rt 9, take Shrewsbury St to Washington Sq
rotary. Then, take second exit off rotary, and bear right. Go
straight through 2 red lights. The second light will be to cross
Main st. Go up the hill and bear left, then take a left at the
second light again. Another left will put you onto Pleasant St.
The Software Shop is a small closet, so you'll have to look for
it.

833.10 | New store in Belmont | CRLVMS::TREESE | Win Treese, Cambridge Research Lab | Thu Dec 01 1988 17:06 | 19 |
| There's a new Amiga dealer in Belmont:
Soft Designs
394 Trapelo Rd.
Belmont, MA
489-4056
I don't know how good their hardware prices are, but they seem to
be enthusiastic about the machine.
A couple of weeks ago, I got a tour of the whole place, including
the unfurnished room which will hold their BBS and the basement
with piles of unpacked boxes.
So far, I rate them not as good as the Memory Location, but better
than the Bit Bucket in Newton.
