806.0. "MFM/68881 test" by ERLANG::SLACK () Wed Oct 14 1987 15:14

    I'm going to test a Microbotics multifunction module with a 68881
    on my A1000 (512K, 20M Supradrive outboard of a 2Meg Starboard2).
    Any comments,requests or suggestions as to your favorite test?
    If someone has already done this, please let me know. I was just
    planning on installing the new math libraries and seeing if it made
    any difference to any of my current software such as the various
    mandelbrot programs and some Basic hacks.

re:	.0

If you are a use of DBW_Render I would be interested in ray tracing timings
with and without the 68881

806.2do you have a favorite test case?ERLANG::SLACKWed Oct 14 1987 20:456
    re .1 I beleive I have your Render but I'm not an active user.
    If you could Email me a suitable test script I will give it a whirl.
    Time permitting, I will install everything this weekend.

806.3grrrrr!ERLANG::SLACKSun Oct 18 1987 16:0810
    Well, bad news. With the MFM/68881 installed, I couldn't get kickstart
    1.2 to boot. I tried with 1.1 and ran the Microbotocs RAM test
    but it said "not a microbotics starboard". I removed the MFM and
    everything was back to normal. So no results. I would to hear
    from anyone who has successfully used a multifunction module on
    their starboard2 whether with a math chip or not.

    Suggestions?
