| Did anybody grab the usenet (comp_sources or comp_binaries) messages
for the UUPC code? I got part 3 of 3. I know ASHBY,ROLL have not
been sending out usenet for a few days but was wondering if anybody
with a different mail feed might have recieved them.
Part 3 of 3 contained sources, but is missing a hosts.h I have only
briefly scanned the sources, and so, this might acutally be what
is called L.sys or Systems by uucp. Of course why hard code something
like that???
thanks.

Does anybody have the protocal spec for uucp lying around somewhere
or know where I could get it? or where I could ask to get it?

| re: .1
I only saw 3 of 3 so I didn't answer.
re: .2
I don't know. (I'm lots of help aren't I?)
I responded 'cause I pulled this off USENET which might help. It
gives the name of the original uucp poster who may be able
provide you with the sources.

Subject: Why no mail binary was distributed with uupc

I forgot to include the mail binary in the batch of files that I sent to
the moderators, thats why. You should hopefully be able to generate the
mail binary from the sources.

779.4 | binaries? | COGMK::SNIDER | | Mon Sep 19 1988 22:00 | 10 |
| Re .1
I have the sources now for uupc if you still need host.h file.
I'm looking for the binaries for uupc because the source is for the
aztec c compiler. I have lattice 4.xx which doesn't have stty support.
Thanks.

| The MS-DOS versions of DCP and UUPC (both variations on UUCP mail)
can be found in the archives on CSCMAS::SYS$MSDOS:[UUCP]. Read
the NAC::IBMPC notesfile for more details. Bernie Eiben, the
proprietor, prefers people to make file transfers outside normal
business hours Eastern time.
Documents describing UUCP and Unix network mail are included with
these two packages. The UUPC document gives an e-mail address for
the author of an Amiga version. Beyond that, I can't help much.
I have successfully sent and received mail using the Loftus/Schein
package called AmigaUUCP. It was not trivial getting started. Anyone
interested in more details should send me mail.
