765.0. "Anyone from Australia?" by UFP::WICKERT (MAA DIS Consultant) Fri Oct 02 1987 12:04

    Any Amiga owners in Australia who might in interested in doing me
    a favor?

    Panther Games (an Australian game company) has released a game called
    "Fire Brigade" for the Amiga. For the life of me I can't find a
    company here in the US that intends to carry their computer games.
    All of them say either NO or that we're thinking about it. I saw
    FB at Origins and it looks GREAT!

    I need someone to do two things -

    	1. Check it's availability down-under. I'm not even sure they've
    	   released it yet or not.

        2. Maybe buy a copy for me and ship? I imgine I'd need to convert
           some US money into whatever you guys use and send it to you.

    Anyone willing?

    Thanks,

    Ray

765.1Oz replies at last...RIPPER::PARSONSTue Jan 12 1988 17:1010
  At last somebody down under has seen your note, there's a lot more than just
me here, but I guess the Amiga conference is so messy now that it's hard to
spot things of interest, hence the delay to reply. I'm just a new Amiga owner
and have gone into notes looking for general information.
 Re your request, I'll make enquiries in a couple of hours and reply on success
 or failure. If success we could work out an exchange of software as currency
exchanges are always messy. Be aware that software prices are fairly high here,
the local producers tend to match the inflated imported prices.

765.2No find "Fire Brigade" yet...RIPPER::PARSONSWed Jan 13 1988 00:386
  Tried a couple of places, they have "heard of it" but don't know who handles
it. Seems a rare one that might have been aimed at overseas, and local market
forgotten. I'll keep trying and put another note in when I have either found it
 or convinced myself that I won't find it.

765.4It might see the light of dayLDP::MCCARTHYMike McCarthy MR02-4/E33 DTN 297-4531Mon Aug 08 1988 16:418
        I was looking through "Computer Gaming World", or some title,
        and saw an ad for Fire Brigade, along with a review of a beta
        copy. I also happened to be looking through the latest price
        list from Abel Supply, and saw it listed, available in September.

        I thought you might like an update.
