755.0. "Microemacs 3.9 source kit, with spelling checker" by CAMPER::LOMICKAJ (Jeff Lomicka) Mon Sep 28 1987 13:39

Microemacs 3.9:

All sources, an .ARC of the documentation, an .ARC of the spelling checker
sources, an .ARC fo the spelling checker documentation, and an executable
for the Atari-ST (EMACS.PRG) are all now availabe in:

	CAMPER::DUA1:[LOMICKAJ.MCIROEMACS39]*.*

Have fun. The code is full of "#ifdef AMIGA", so I assume that if one of you
has the correct compiler, you will be able to rebuild it. (Im into Atari, so
I can't help you there.)

I intend to build a VMS .EXE for it also.

755.1Can't read the .ARC filesCOOKIE::WECKERA wholly owned subsidiary of DECMon Sep 28 1987 17:289
re:	.0

I'm really interested in the spelling... however, both of the spelling arc
files seem to be unreadable. What were they ARC'd with? CAld you check them
and possibly rebuild them (if necessary).

Thanks!
dave

755.2Hmmm. Are ARC's compatible across systems?CAMPER::LOMICKAJJeff LomickaMon Sep 28 1987 18:268
I watched them get ARC'd on an Atari-ST, and had heard that the formats were
compatible. Perhaps this is not the case, or perhaps KERMIT killed them.

I'll de-arc them tonight or tommorw on the ST and see if I can glean some
useful files out of them, and post a note here with my results.

(I hate .ARC files anyway, but I got them this way, so I ship'em this way.
I prefer to get real bits.)
755.3They AreLEDS::ACCIARDIMon Sep 28 1987 20:396
    I'm quite certain that ARChives are cross compatible, since I posted
    some FS][ scenarios here a while ago that several ST folks ran with
    no problems.

755.4De-arced microemacs docs and spell checker sourceCAMPER::LOMICKAJJeff LomickaTue Sep 29 1987 11:3913
That's good to hear, but in any case, I have de-arced the spelling checker
source kit and the Emacs documentation, and the results can be had from

	CAMPER::DUA1:[LOMICKAJ.MICROEMACS39.EMACSDOC]*.*

and

	CAMPER::DUA1:[LOMICKAJ.MICROEMACS39.MICROSPELL]*.*

I'm working on generating human-readable forms of the .MSS files. There are
some minor incompatibility problems between microScribe and real Scribe, but
as soon as they are repaired I will have .LPT and .PS versions of the
documentation.  I'll let you know.
755.5VMS version availableCAMPER::LOMICKAJJeff LomickaTue Sep 29 1987 11:482
The VMS version is now available in:
