752.0. "Snipit" by LEDS::ACCIARDI () Mon Sep 28 1987 00:57
Here's one of the slickest hacks to come along yet. 'SnipIt' allows
text from any console window to be highlighted with the mouse, and
cut and pasted into any other console window that's waiting for
input.
So far, I've been able to highlight a block of text from a CLI window
and paste it into Maxiplan, Aegis Draw, Scribble!, and Comm. I've
also pasted the block of text into DPaint, Notepad, and all
of the Gizmoz desktop tools, including calender and calculator.
Check this out for yourself.

| There is an error in the manual. You must hold down both the
left-amiga and left-alt keys when selecting text with the left
mouse button. Holding down only the left-amiga key doesn't cut it.

| You're probably not keeping the Select button pressed. The CUT
operation is not a click-here-release-then-click-there, it's
a click-here-move-there-then-release.

| Well, I only need to hold the ALT and Amiga keys down until I click
the left mouse button. Then I can release them and slide the mouse.
