I just got my copy of VISAWRITE last night and tried it out. I was quite disappointed with it for a couple of reasons. First after reading the manual and trying to include a picture from Dpaint II I found out that the picture you copy into your document can olny be one color. This is not mentioned in the book, but in a sample document that give additional hint on the software's uses. I was also unable to print on a la50 printer. They use a seperate printer setup menu and suggest not using the preferences menu since you loose a lot of the graphics capability by doing that. You can not not have multiple colors within the same document like you can with prowrite. The only color changing you can do is to change your default colors from preferences. One nice feature is that once you transfer a picture into your document you can change the size and the location of that picture very easily. If the would add the use of multiple colors in a future upgrade this would be much better software.

Is the text handled as graphics? or does it treat text ala "Prose Plus"? How is the printer output fast, slow etc? Also, when you blow up a picture, does it smooth out the jaggies? thanks, |
