see note 595.6 if you have access to a postscript printer at work.

There are two different ways to do what you want.
1. I have heard there is a Public Domain program that re-direct
the printer output of a AMIGA to a file. You could use the
LA50 driver I wrote to create a SIXEL file.
2. I have written a VAX program that can convert a black and white
IFF file to a SIXEL file. I have used the program to print
PageSetter IFF output on LN03 at work. The IFF file is much
smaller than a SIXEL file, so I thought it would be best to
move the IFF file to the VAX and convert it there.

| After discovering a flaw in our LPS40 print queue, I have now had
great success uploading HAM pictures, converting them on the VAX
to postscript with CLAZ.EXE and printing them on the LPS40. Even
better results are obtained printing CLAZed high-res (640x400) B&W
digitized pictures.

661.5 | IFF_TO_SIX program available? | HSK03::HAKALA | Tuomo Hakala, ES Finland | Wed Aug 26 1987 14:49 | 12 |
| RE: .2
Could you make the IFF_to_SIXEL program available? I think that
might be a good tool for me.
What do you mean by black & white pictures? How does your program handle
the colour pictures?
I still have a dream to get my colourful IFF pictures printed by
the LCP01...

First, the IFF to Sixel program only works with IFF files
that have one bit plane ( black and white ). This type of file
came from PageSetter, but is standard IFF. If the picture has
more than one bit plane the program will not work right.
I will look at how hard it would be to expand the program to
include color. For now the program is at
ELWOOD::User$1:[peters.amiga]
NOTE: This is a VAX/VMS program.
