Is the Sony KV1311-CR monitor still available anywhere? My original
1070 (not 1080) monitor blew its picture tube last week (at least
that's what the repair guy said was wrong with it), so I need to
get a new one. Who has the lowest price mailorder for the Sony?
If this model is no longer available, what is the model that
replaces it?

I had heard from several sources that the Sony KV1311 has been
discontinued. Sony has created a new multi-sync type monitor that
supports EGA.
I have seen and used the Sony CPD1201 monitor. This is a 12" diagonal
trinitron analog/digital RGB only (no tuner or composite input).
This model is really marvelous to look at, better than the 1311
(maybe the smaller screen helps?) If you don't need the tuner,
I'd recommend a look at the 1201. I think it sells for around $499.

Able's Supply is still advertising (or was the last time I looked)
it for about 430.00 dollars or so. If you are in Mass, or Lechmere's
, you could try calling them, ask for the computer dept and ask about
it there. They still had them in stock for about 500.00. I think
there is a previous note discussing the where how etc. I think it
was under amiga 500 or something similar. Sorry I can't remember
it. Also I noticed in _The Computer Shopper_ there are places which
have advertised both the kv1311 and the 1201.

The Software Shop is where I got my CPD1201 demo. Moe is negotiating
to become a dealer for the Sony.

I own a 1311 and I got it at Lechmere for 499. (on sale)
