| I have been looking (not too actively) for the same thing, but haven't found
anything that suited me. The Memory Location has a pair of powered speakers
for sale at $99. (Or did a couple of months ago.) Sony is reputed to have
have shielded powered speakers, but I have yet to locate anyplace which claims
to know about them.
Please post here if you find anything decent.

| The new DAK catalog has a pair of powered speakers made by Universal.
I don't remember the price or specs. I'll post the info here tomorrow.

| YOU-DO-IT Electronics in Waltham, has (had?) the shielded Sonys at
$99 a pair. I bought them, and have them sitting on either side
of my monitor, with no problems. Nice to have stereo sound ...

Can you say a little about features, etc.?
1) Do they have a volume control?
If so, one for pair or one/speaker?
2) How do they sound?
3) Do you feel they are a good value?
4) What is the exact model number. With that, I might
consider mailordering them for a better price.
