440.0. "I knew it could be done!! (DME)" by ECC::JAERVINEN (May all your loops be infinite) Tue Apr 07 1987 06:01
Last night, I loaded Matt Dillon's DME editor to my Amiga..
.. and surprise, surprise, the GERMAN KEYBOARD WORKS!!
This is the first editor I've seen that handles a non-US keyboard
correctly that I've seen. I don't have the source so I don't know
how he does it, but at least it can be done.
All keys work as expected (kp-4 is 4, shift-kp4 is {, but I can
still bind both to any other string/command I wish...).
It's also otherwise a nice editor, not very powerful [yet?]
but easy to use and rather small - it can be 'iconified' in the
same way as UEDIT but is much smaller. UEDIT is unusable on a non-US
Amiga anyway, as I've stated elsewhere.
