431.0. "Turbo Amiga sale" by ELWOOD::PETERS () Wed Apr 01 1987 17:01
I have been talking with Abel supply about some new hardware
for my Amiga. They want to stock CSA turbo Amiga. They have offered
a very good price if I can get 3 orders ( mine and two others ).
You would be placing the order directly with Abel, I just need to
give them a list of names.
The CSA turbo Amiga is a Zorro I box. A 68020/68881 CPU card
running at 14+ MHZ. High speed staic RAM ( 32 bit ). A DMA SCSI
disk controller and a 20 MB SCSI disk.
The CPU card will run over twice as fast as the current CPU.
With the high speed RAM it will run 4 times as fast as an Amiga.
The 68881 is a Floating point processor that is 40 times the speed
of the Amiga software floating point.
The disk controller supports up to 7 SCSI disks of any size.
It auto configures and is DMA. They sell a SCSI hard disk that fits
in the box. It holds 20 MByte.
The memory card is a special high speed static RAM card that
can perform 32 bit xfers with the CPU card.
The cost
retail Abel
Zorro box $895 $705
68020/68881 CPU $1480 $1165.50
SCSI disk controller $745 586.75
20 MB Disk $945 744.20
1/2 MByte RAM 1295 1020.00
A box, CPU, Disk controller and 20MB disk retails for $4065.
Able will sell it for 3200.
Any one interested ??
