395.0. "MCAD.ARC - Nice CAD Drawing Program" by AUTHOR::MACDONALD (WA1OMM Listening 224.64) Mon Mar 23 1987 11:00

    I have uploaded a very slick CAD drawing package to my directory.
    If you are using >512K then be sure to run the MCAD main program
    through FIXHUNK. If you do not, you will get barbage on the screen
    whenever you select the cross-hair cursor. I been playing around
    with this shareware program, and it is GOOD!

395.2ARC/Download troubles...LEDS::ACCIARDIMon Mar 23 1987 23:2413
    RE: .0

    	Paul, I have been getting bad archives from your directory.
        I am using VT100 v2.4 (I know, I know, we're at 2.6) with XMODEM,
    	and I have tried de-ARCing with ARC16, ARC23, but I get a message
    	from the ARC program that I have some bad headers in the ARChive.

    	I also tried the download using COMM133, with the same results.
    	Has anyone else had downloading problems? I even copied the
    	source files to my local node to minimize line transmission
    	noise.

    	Yes, very nice CAD package. I have sent my bucks along.

    re: .2

    	I have also had quite a few files recently deARC with warning
    messages that there is a bad header in the file - although it also
    says "0 Bytes skipped". Programs with this message still seem to
    execute OK, though. Could it be a bug in ARC?

395.4Think this is XMODEM paddingKIRK::LONGTue Mar 24 1987 07:4011
	This business of bad header and n bytes skipped I think was
	tracked down to uploading with XMODEM and downloading with
	KERMIT. Never having much success with XMODEM transfers, I
	use KERMIT for downloads and have learned to just ignore
	these messages as being related to the padding that XMODEM
	does to the end of the file.

	Nice CAD package ( anybody have any experience with DYNAMICAD? )
