381.1 | Looking for a good kit... | COOKIE::WECKER | Dave (Cum Grano Salis) Wecker | Mon Mar 16 1987 17:20 | 6 |
| If anyone has a copy of the most current XLISP kit I would GREATLY appreciate
it if you could upload it for copying (no I DON'T know the current version
number).
yet another LISP hacker...

381.2 | Newer XLISP is out, but not for amiga? | BACH::TENNY | Dave Tenny | Mon Mar 16 1987 17:22 | 8 |
| How about Common Lisp for the Amiga.
Might be fun if you don't have VAX LISP and UIS :^)
Dave ..
VAX LISP development
RE.0 -- I have XLISP, but I don't use it. To my knowledge,
another version of Amiga XLISP (> version 6) has not come out.

| According to the issue of Amazing that I have handy (not the newest
one), FF#39 has the executable image for 1.7.
Assuredly *not* a Lisp hacker,

Note 50.* in the XLISP conference (type SELECT to add to your
notebook) discusses version 1.7 of XLISP.
I've not yet compiled this, nor made an appropriate amigastuff.c
for it.
I was thinking it would be nice to have some additions ala Smalltalk
for handling windows. Any thoughts?
James.

381.5 | I like XLISP. What is Cambridge Standard Lisp? | WHO::WISNER | Paul Wisner | Mon Mar 23 1987 20:46 | 13 |
| I have been using XLISP. I have 1.6 (I think). It was a generous
enough subset of Common Lisp to get me through all my course
assignments. I'll bet if your favorite common lisp function is
missing you could write it using the Lisp functions provided.
Graphics support would be nice. I would like to see
a more generic aproach. A facility to branch to external routines.
I think LISP is a fabulous language and I like my (free) XLisp alot more
than my $200 Amiga Standard Lisp (yuk!). Is anyone using Amiga
Lisp? Does a Cambridge Standard Lisp book exist?
