I was going by Instant Software in Acton this afternoon and stopped in to see what was left of their 1/2 price sale. I was surprised to find quite a bit of stuff. Specifically: Infocom games: $15 Deluxe Video: $35 or $40 (I forget) Deluxe Music: $80 Deluxe Paint (I): $35 (I think) I believe these are all excellent prices. I was tempted to buy Deluxe Video, but got to wondering if this might be an out of date version. Is it one of those things that won't work with Kickstart 1.2? Paul

Yep, DeluxeVideo does not work properly with 1.2 or memory expansion beyond 512K. They have not released a new version yet. If you do use it with 1.1 and memory expansion, you won't be able to use polygon text and several of the requesters will be filled with crap, making them impossible to use. I wish EA would get the replacement out QUICK. I'm surprised it's taken this long. Randy

I thought I remembered something like that. It might still be cheaper to buy a discounted version and upgrade it later, but I guess I will take my chances on waiting until the details are known. Paul

Re: Instant Software, I stopped in this weekend (they had great deals on books too) and heard it rumored that in two weeks they will be having another (1/2 price???) sale. Check the "Independent" in two weeks. KT

My wife and son went in a day or two after I did and found that most of the low prices I reported had been marked back up. Sounds pretty unpredictable. Paul |
