| P.S. Yes, I have read note 42 - but I think that system is too awkward.
I don't see any reason why the SW just couldn't lie around in a
world read directory - that's been working fine for the RB software
for a long time. Much less work for the person maintaining it;
the problem of getting all associated files for a 'product'
can be avoided by using e.g. only archive files.

To all of the people who have been wondering if the Toolshed
exists on SPHINX the answer is no. I have no idea where to find software
for the Amiga. I anyone has placed all software on one system please let
everyone else know.

324.4 | Heres some info | SMAUG::SPODARYK | Twenty, 20, 20-4 hours to go... | Fri Jan 06 1989 15:15 | 15 |
| There are archives in several places. These come to mind:
tape::user1:[amiga...] ! [amiga.arc], etc
norse::amiga:[000000...] ! [.utilities], [.games], [.demos], etc
wjg::amiga:
These contains *lots* of PD, and shareware, most of it quite good.
You should get a copy of Ed Acciardi's starter disk. This contains
the software necessary to start downloading (Terminal emulator,
arc, zoo, other utilities ).
Look around the conference for other pointers to "toolsheds", and
tips on downloading, etc. Have fun!

| Thanks! Where can I get EdAcciardi's starter disk ? I've read through
the notes about getting started, but without any knowledge whatsoever
of PC's/Amiga's I get confused with all the new names like XMODEM,
UUEN/DECODE etc.
Thought I'd give it a try this weekend....

Hi...
As luck would have it, I'm Ed Acciardi! If you e-mail me, I'll
work out arrangements to get you a disk with all you'll need to
begin transfering stuff, unpacking files, and in general making
your Amiga more wonderful than it already is.
All I ask of Starter disk recipients is that they name a child after
me, even if it's a girl.
