Has anyone received a mailing from Aegis for this yet? I got one
the other day. This really has me steamed. You pay them $60.00
a year. You get:
A subscription to their newsletter
Press releases for new products
Free upgrades of all products
Some free Compuserve time
Why am I steamed? Because these are the same people who have really
jerked me around with upgrades in the past, to products with known
bugs. Now, if you send them $60, they will send you the upgrades
you should be getting for free (most of the time) anyways.
Who cares about the newsletter? If it is anything like the Electronic
Arts one, I'm not interested, and I'm certainly not going to PAY
for a multipaged advertisement for Aegis products. The EA one had
very little Amiga coverage. There is no indication of how often
the newsletter will be distributed either. If it is anything like
Atari's magazine, it will be anyone's guess when the next issue
will be out, if at all.
Free Compuserve time...so what.
Press releases of new products...give me a break! This is the company
that has pre-advertised all if its products, several months before
availability. Again, I'm not going to pay for what I can read in
the pages of AmigaWorld.
What's your opinion of this 'offer?'
