132.0. "Amigazine!" by JOKE::ACCIARDI () Sat Oct 04 1986 09:32

    I just got a look at a neat new disk-based magazine called "Amigazine".
    The first issue had a disk that was 99% full of articles, reviews,
    utilities, and Videos. They include Animator and DVideo players,
    HAM pics, AmigaBASIC programs, and games written in 'C'.

    They entire volume can be used without ever taking your hand off
    of the mouse, and they have some neat ways of viewing and printing
    text files from the Workbench.

    I am going to subcribe. The price is reasonable, and even if all
    future issues are lousy, you can always bulk the disk. (At least
    it won't end up sitting behind the john collecting dust!)

    Subscription prices are:

    	6 monthly issues for $35.95
    	12   "      "     "  $59.95
	12 issues overseas foreign air mail for $71.95

    Mail to:	Amigazine! Circulation Dept.
    		P.O. Box 9231, Bakersfield CA 93389

    Sorry, but a friend lent me his and I already returned it. It was
    not copy-protected, but I felt a little tacky about ripping off
    their first issue. The only way to get it that I know of is thru
    the mail, 'tho you might check some dealers.

    I took in a copy of note 132 to some of the local magazine stores,and
    asked if they had heard about it. It seems more an more publishers
    are going to disk format . There were several systems supported
    but no the Amiga. I thought your friend might have had a line on
    a dealership in the area.If I locate one I'll post it.

    thanx,bill

    Any further word on these guys? Are they still in business? Are
    you happy with your subscription?

132.5They are delivering..CHEF::ACCIARDIWed Dec 31 1986 20:537
    Yep, I get my disk every month. So far, it's been worth the minimal
    cost. They usually include some nice HAM pics, and the best of
    PD software, plus some cute AmigaBASIC games. Pretty sophmoric
    stuff, but worth $6.00. I just take the good stuff off and then
    bulk the disk.

132.6Still printing...?SNO78C::METRO_OAThu Jan 15 1987 07:3710
                          -< You sure they're still in bussiness?>-

    Hi, I subscribed as soon as the premier edition came out in October
    and received one issue after that ( the November '86 edition) and
    have heard or seen nothing since!! They are now two behind at my
    address. Are they bankrupt? The first two issues where good value
    even with the airmail rates to Australia...

    Can anyone confirm to me that AMIGAZINE! is still published? I still
    have not recieved an issue since December. Does anyone out there
    have a subscription and still getting the disks?

    Maybe I have just done my dough...

    Regards from D.U.
