Geez, I'm kinda shocked that there hasn't been any discussion on
the Tour de France.
Saw the highlights on ESPN last night and last years champ Indurain
blew everyone away with his timetrial. LeMond is struggling, but is
still within striking distance in 5th 4:27 behind the overall leader
Pascal Lino.
Top 5 after 9th stage: (Monday)
1. Lino
2. Indurain +1:27
3. Skibby +3:47
4. Roche +4:15
5. LeMond +4:27
Others: Bungo +4:39
Chiappucci +4:54
Delgado +7:11
Bauer +7:31
Fignon +7:44

You'll find extensive coverage of the Tour de France and other
races in the CYCLE_RACING notes file.

| 271.2 | Tour D'Europa '92? | SALES::THILL | Tue Jul 14 1992 10:53 | 12 | |
The route of this years race is a little different to say the least. It
starts in Spain then moves up through several areas of France before
hitting Belgium, Holland, Luxumbourg and Germany before heading back to
France. In the past they have gone for a short stint into neighboring
countries, but never this much or this many countries. I guess this must
be some sort of tie-in with the year of Europe/1992.
The neat thing about this race is that it is a different route every
year, and makes it a point to bring the race to small towns in the
French countryside.
