UC has been trying to schedule OSU. UC wants a "your place-my place"
arrangement but the Buckeyes won't have anything to do with it. Seems to be
causing a mild furor around here.
'Cats (#4 seed) play Delaware (#13 I think) the afternoon up at the UD Arena.

north or Riverfront Coliseum 20 miles south)

undermained Hoosiers rolled into Cincy and roughed up the
Bearcats, which surely must mean this is NOT the 2nd coming of

True.
Sounds weird, but with a 23-4 record, the Bearcats have lost all of the
"big" games (Indiana, Mich. St., DePaul, and ?) they've played.
Actually, they've arrived a year before everyone thought they would with a
bunch of JuCo transfers. Wait till next year when coach Bob Huggins' recruits
begin to show up. Watch for a kid named Keith Gregor (son of ex-NBA'er Gary)
from up the road at Lakota High School.

Crispus Attucks H.S. if I'm not mistaken.
Bruce (who usta go to Cinci Gardens to see the Big O, Lucas, etc. when the
Royals were in town)

Bruce, 20 miles North, 35 miles south must put you somewhere around
Hamilton?
Bearcats lost 2x to DePaul (1 point loss at home was a heart breaker),
by 1 pnt to Michigan St. (rematch on Sunday?), by boccu to Indiana,
don't know the details, however, they were winning at half.
Enjoy,

Close (got your N and S mixed up). I live in Mason (Kings Island amusement
park, ATP Tennis Center, Jack Nickalus sports center). I work in the DEC
office in Blue Ash for a group out of Landover, MD (Messaging Practice).
Are you from around these here parts? Hope the Cats get a Mich St. rematch.

Yeah, you're right, mixed up my directions there. I used to pass through
Mason at least once a month or so on my way from Cincy back home to
Cleveland. Say hi to Jack for me, and when you head a little south
have some bbq at the 'ol Ribs King from me some time.. actually, send
some up!

Way to go BearCats.. With only the 9th, 6th and 7th seeds left in the
Midwest, they should be favored to make the final 4.
Hate to see them have to go up against Memphis State again, though,
having already beaten them 3 outta 3 times this year. Gotta win Friday
before worrying about that, though.

Remember Morris Venus Flytrap Brown? Great point guard.
ANd that Nessman guy - little dude, could pop the three. The fans used
to chant "More with Les!"
ANd of course the good Doctor was there. Proof that white men can
jump. He was the main who gave Cincy the fever.
And the cheerleaders, main that had that one who looked like she had a
replica of the Grand Tetons under her sweater. Yowza.
Yep, Cincy, whadda team.

As you can see from above, I'm writing this from WKRP (an LAVc). At one time,
other workstations hanging off of it were LES (what I'm using now), TRAVIS,
HERB, JENIFR, DRFEVR, CARLSN, QRTRS, FLYTRP, etc., etc..
Back when we managed all the systems in the building, we put Sales on HERB. I
don't think they ever caught on to it.
Re: -2
Yep. Being favored in the NCAA's and thinking it counts as something will get
you a quick ticket home. Let's just say that UC is the highest seed left in
that bracket.

| Boy did the 'Cats looked well-coached and I ain't talking about
Kaintuck. Most agressive D I seed all year. A squad a tweeners
with quick feet and big hearts.
Oh yes, sure, State had some injury problems and has been lapsing
back into street ball intermittently all year, but credit Oscar
Robertson's alma mater for winning the game hands down.
They have a open shot now at the the Final4.
re: Mason
Several years ago I'm driving up the interstate haiding to Columbus
in a spring snow storm. Roads were ok, but visibility is limited.
So, being acutely aware of how bad Ohio troopers are, I see my chance
to do some speeding. Cruising along a 70 in a 55 I just KNOW no cop
cain time me in this sheet. Wrong. As the wind whips open the snow
curtain I look across the median and lock eyes with a state trooper.
I speed up some more, hoping for a exit, but this cop's on me in two
minutes.
He approaches my rental car with his credit card imprinter. I give
him my American Express, he goes back to the car, comes back, "son
you're $1,500 over you limit with Amex. You better have a card that's
open or the $90 or I'm gonna have to run you in."
Thankfully, my Master Card saved me.

Well, well, well.. my alma-mater in the final 4. Never thought I'd
see the day. Couldn't have played a much better game yesterday
either.. except for the first 6-8 minutes, the BearCats truely
dominated. It feels even better to have trounced the Tigers 4 times in
a single year since those boys from Memphis used to embarrass the hell
outta the Bearcats twice a year back when I was at school.
On to a Saturday afternoon meeting with Michigan for a shot at the
whole enchilada.. Unbelievable..

| Old Bearcat Responds...
I graduated from dear ole Cincy in 1964. Co-op'd so I actually attended
from Sept. 1959 - June 1964. Needless to say, I witnessed some of the
greatest basketball with the Big O, Ralph Davis, Carl Bouldin (former
Washington Senators baseball player), Bob Weisenhahn (elbows were like
razors), Tom Thacker, Tony Yates, Larry Shingleton, Ron Bonham, George
Wilson, Paul Hogue. George Smith was coach but went on to be Athletic
Director when Oscar graduated in 1960...was replaced by Ed Jucker for
the 60-61 season and we know what happened then...NCAA CHAMPS for 2
years and almost the third.
Several of my buddies and I were basketball groupies and, when
possible, would travel to away games. We were in Louisville for the
1963 Championship which unfortunately we lost in the dramatic overtime
against George Ireland's Loyola of Chicago Ramblers. Oh well, we at
least beat Ohio State the two previous years for all the marbles and
they were an excellent ball club (Jerry Lucas, John Havelchek, Mel
Nowell, Larry Siegfried, Joe Roberts and some kid name Bobby Knight)
There have been some pretty good Bearcat teams between 1963 and today
(also some not so good teams); however, this years team brings a great
pride back into this soul...now let's beat those upstarts from Ann
Arbor (boy have they really developed this year) on Saturday and
then beat either Duke or Indiana on Monday and bring back that
championship that has eluded us for so long!!
