The Warriors aren't going anywhere without Chris Mullin.  He
sat out last night with a strained knee, and the Lakers coasted
to a 126-116 win.  Game two Wednesday night.  Mullin's status
unknown.

    Re Jeff Needle, Golden State has been my favorite West team since they
    signed Marciulonis last season...I'll stop short of trading in my green
    and white though until the Warriors take Arturas Karnishovas in the
    1994 draft. :-)
    
    Re .9, yeah no question the Warriors need Mullin to have any chance;
    another topic reported that Mullin is expected to play in Game 2.  Edge
    "on paper" goes to LA no question, but I didn't expect the Warriors to
    knock off the Spurs so who knows?

wrong their refs would have put more time back on the clock for them...

talk about lucky, what about Mullins going down? Man those Lakers get all

    slipped him a Mickey to get the press to stop sniffing around...
    
    As for the Lakers, they're a much, much smarter team than San Antonio. 
    They'll know how to exploit the smaller Warriors in the pivot.

    When I saw this topic I thought "Gee, what a_uneducated person, then I
    saw that Mike "Naive_As_A" Childs wrote it, so I knew he'd be whining
    and crying about the Lakers. Well L.A. stomped GS lasted night and
    the'll do it again 3 more times. I think Mike is really a closet LAker
    fan cuz he spends more time talking about them then the CELibaTICS. Hey

    I think its a conspiracy.  With all the great teams in the western
    conference playoffs, upsets were bound to happen.  This is ridiculous
    though!  I don't see how LA can have it any easier now.

Mike, the Suns never would have gotten past the Rockets.  What a
riot.  Two weeks ago, all the anti-Lakers were boldly predicting
an Akeem-led romp over the Lakers.  Now that the Lakers have
broomed the "team that nobody wants to play," the tune has changed
to a slow whine about how easy the Lakers have it.

    That's why it is a conspiracy.  As soon as Houston was slated to play
    LA, they went into a tailspin the last few weeks.  They were nowhere
    near the Rocket team of early March.
    
    Suns just didn't have the desire for it this year.  I'll leave the
    injury talk to others.

The Golden State Warrior's beat the Hollywood Lakers lasted night by one
steenkin point. But it wasn't a real point mind you, it was manufactured
by sensationalist referee's who read the script wrong! MAKE-UP!!!!!!!!!!

        LA sure did the el foldo lasted night.  The last score I 
    knew about before the final was 57-49.  I figured victory was
    sealed and delivered.  
    
    	3 times now during his playoff career Magic has scored over 
    40 points.  All of those times the LAKERS have lost.  
    
    	Time to get 2 in Oakland now. :)

    	You're right TTom.  I hereby stand corrected.  Don't know 
    how I forgot about that.
    
    	That game against Philly in Game 6 of the '80 finals was
    the exception, but in that game he had some help(Jamaal Wilkes added
    37 points).  Seems like the last few times it's been Magic vs.
    <insert opponent> instead of the Lakers vs .<insert opponent>.
    They're much better off when he has more assists than points.

    Don't know about the others but this one's still here.  Can't say the
    LA-GS series outcome was a surprise, although with a 3-point loss and
    an overtime loss it was a more competitve series than the four games to

The reason a lot of us basketball fans haven't spent much time during
the regular season in here is that this conference doesn't have much
serious bball discussion until the playoffs.  Seems like most of the
regular season discussions are along the lines of:

  o  Wilt vs. Russell (same old arguments rehashed again and again)

  o  Dean Smith:  bball genius or misplaced Jiffy Lube greaser.

When you do something on the rugby pitch that's accidental, you NEVER, *EVER*
let the other team know it was a_accident.  You always pretend like it
was deliberate.

(That way, when you say "No, I meant to do that", they say "I knew that.
What makes you think I didn't know that.....")....


You and the young'uns will have to make it out to some of our games
in that area this fall.....(Mystic River, or Amoskeag...)

    Laker_Ken probably saw my numerous dignified examples of substantial
    NBA noting, and how all it ever did was inspire the Jihad and the Green
    Dockers into spontaneous whining exhibitions about fixes, referees and
    injuries and thought that all was rotten in the state of Sports.  Yet I
    always held out hope for your rotten souls, that you too could raise
    your level of discussion and forget your Green background.
    
    As we have seen, in some cases there is no hope.  Yet the salvaged are
    just cause for the efforts I have made.
