| Not sure where else to put this, but...
There were two lightning strikes out at Hazeltine early this afternoon.
One spectator has already died and two more are in serious condition.
Five total people were struck. Play has been suspended.

Oh geez, that lightning is bad news. We had 3 or 4 kids
get nailed up at the Air Force Academy while playing
soccer about two weeks ago. The kid who caught the worst
of it was wearing braces. They apparently melted in his
mouth according to a friend of mine. Wicked stuff......

| Golf. We has some storms rumble through here about 5:30am that woke me
right up. It's been a prime hot & humid day for some storms. As far
as I know, the first round began as scheduled @ 7:00am. Haven't heard
anything furthur.

Golf. Lightning is extremely dangerous on a golf course. Especially
when your carrying 14 lightning rods and wearing shoes with metal
spikes.
Lightning is what screwed up Lee Trevino's back.
Phil. Who used to caddie and was scared to death when a storm blew
into town.

| Lightning is the one thing that will makes the Wanderers call practice.
It has to be one of the most powerful forces in all of nature. Spectacular
to watch, intense in its violence, and so very deadly....

| First I thought of putting this in the fishing note. The I realized
we didn't have one. Then I thought about the hunting note since it
might be related and said "nahh". The Dolphin note was my third choice
but I decided to put it here, first because it clearly fits the title
of the note and secondly, I figured the fascist moderators ;*)
needed the practice moving it over to the MikeJN note. Long time
readers will identify the last line with a particular P-Name of
an occasional contributor up in WMO!
