| Too bad Sergei Federov didn't make the all-star game. Murray's done
a great job since taking the team over and bringing them back to
respectability. Great home record.

| Saw Federov play against the Habs in the Montreal Forum earlier
in the season. He is definitely a great skater and asset to the
Detroit club.
Now all they have to do is play at least .500 on the road and they
are back on the road to success.

Heard this rumour that Paul Ysaebart is out.
Any Wing fans know if this is true?
Thanks,

Jo, Yseabart got injured during the Wings game vs the Olympic team.
I remember reading about it but can't recall the type of injury he
sustained. There was another prominent Wing that was also injured
during the same game.

I really think Vancouver is doing well due to the trade they made with
St. Louis late last year. I thought St. Louis got robbed...Vancouver
showed immediate signs of improvement last year.

Walt, it just goes to show you how much interest i have in Detroit sports
teams! Congrats to the first place Dead Wings! 8^)
Didn't they get off to a slow start? Then there was some contoversy surrounding
Yzerman and the coach that didn't help matters? Anyway, they are tons better
than my Broonz are, which aint saying much. Sheet I bet my Sunday morning
hockey team could give the B's a game.

| Isn't Probert Canadian? I always thought it was funny how they banned
him from his own country. Sure, Canadian drug laws are generally
tougher than the US, but the whole thing seemed more like a railroading
of a high profile public figure than anything else.

| Yup, but if he went back, he wouldn't have been able to leave. Since
there are more NHL teams in the US, and the Wings are here, he couldn't
go back without knowing he could return to the US based on his visa...

| It wasn't the Canadian authorities banning him. If he left the US to
play in Canada, the U.S. authorities would have interpreted it as
Probert having voluntarily deporting himself. He was allowed to remain
in the U.S. while the case was under appeal in the U.S. courts.

We had a couple of players on our Rugby team who had to be careful of
similar things. They couldn't go on tour and stuff like that. Fortunately,
it all worked out in the end....

That's probably because they were illegals who wouldn't be able to get
back into the country once they left.

No. One had been recently married to a girl from the US, and the other
HAD a visa but was not sure about being able to get back in....
