Jesse,
What do you think of all the moves made so far ?
Ojeda shores up the starting rotation, if Hershiser can pitch again ....
And the Strawb and Brett Butler, with Kal Daniels in the outfield !
Should be a great year, c'mon spring training !

| I like what the Dodgers have done. More maet at the plate, more
starting pitching. What we really need is a decent closer.

| Jesse,
Over the past several years each time a new sports conference has been
started I have always written the first Dodger Note. This is your
rookie season in the role of note initiator. As the note initiator you
accept responsibility for ensuring a steady diverse stream of DODGER
iformation flowing from noters to noters via this note. Let me offer
my first contribution, GO DODGERS!!!!, there I feel much better. Now
where the hell are all the California Noters with their daily inputs?
Good luck and happy noting!!!

| Dodgers are in first place!!! Hopefully we'll stay there for the rest
of the season. Looks like Offerman is starting to hit. Once the big
bats, Straw and Murrey, come around the Dodgers will be dangerous.
Martinez is off to a great start, Gross is slowly coming around,
Belcher and Morgan are also getting the job done.
Perronowski, on Monday's L.A. Sportschannel telecast of the
Dodgers-Expos game, said he expects Hershiser sometime after the
all-star break. They are only letting him throw 50-60 pitches per
outing. On Monday he went 6 and gave up 4 hits and no runs. Look for
L.A. to take the West if he comes back strong.

| Hey Bob, if you ever get to Colorado Springs, look me up, we'll go to
the Dublin House and get the satallite feed of the Dodger game that
night.

| Bob, do yourself a favor when in Colorado Springs and *don't* call
Jesse. He'll bring along all his soccer pee-pee smooching buddies and
they'll sip exotic drinks with umbrellas whilst making goo-goo eyes at
each other, and then stiff you with the tab.
Rather, give my good friend Clay Wade a call, and be prepared for an
evening of manly talk about weight lifting, hunting, fishing, women and
baseball, whilst chugging draft beers and tuggin' on a plug of Skoal
Long Cut.

| Okay here is how's it went.
Lufay arrived at my place and promptly insulted my wife, kids and family
heritage. We then headed to a Health club for a little phlemn and sweatness.
After that we went to the Dublin House, Quite a manly establishment. Clay had
to service his wife in some manly way before he could make it to the Dublin.
Hoot "former noter" is on first name basis with most of the people at the
Dublin was there and allready "pickled".
Jesse shows up wif his soccer team all in those girlish nylon running shorts.
and rugby type shirts. Jesse quickly establishes himself by telling some joke
about a marine's penicular appendage and it's ability to follow orders. These
guys kept talking about Hunting and Killin and drinking beer much too late for
me. Besides there was no mention of a TALC visit. I think the evening ended wif
Clay attempting to use Jesse as a pothole filler with his manly 4X4.

| Orel Hershiser will start Wednesday. It will be his first start since
April 25, 1990. Hopefully he will return to his 1988 form. 8^)
Ramon Martinez currently leads the Majors with 8 wins.

Hi....question (from my wife):
Has the 'Straw' regained his composure and started hitting or is he
still lost in his newfound religion? (expl. my wife is a native CA
and a long time fan)...

| Straw has 5 homers in the last 6 games and 13 since the all-star break.
So far he is hitting .308 in August, and had a 7 rbi game lasted night.
I think he's coming around nicely.

| Guess da 'Bums ain't done dealing.
They signed Ex-Tribe, ex-Jay hurler Tom Candiotti to a four-year,
4 Million dollar contract. Heard the tape of the Dodger GM, and
he kept referring to Candiotti as "Candinotti" Hey, what's a coupla
mil to a player ya know zilch about. Trying to compensate for the loss
of Belcher? Candy could be a consistent third or fourth starter.

Karen, they do sip! If the rest of the AL was smart they'd throw a
rookie hurler at the Sox for the rested of the season, the Sox can
make anyone look like a Cy Young candidate!
