    I'm from Massachusetts.  I bleed Celtic green.  Their current woes (you
    can stop laughing now) has forced me to watch all my championship
    videos and yearn for past glory.
    
    At least we'll have *2* lottery picks next year!
    
    btw - I brought my kids to that bow and worship at the throne of MJ
    movie known as "Space Jam."  I thought I was gonna ralph on the floor.

    it'll be a while before people as good as are playing now come along,
    imo.

I tuned in to the very end of the Grammies the other night just
as Eric Clapton was receiving his award for best record.  Amoungst
others, he quickly thanked "Tommy Simms" for his work.  Now the
only Tommy Simms I know is a hot bass player who used to play 
for White Heart.  Anybody know of any others?  Suppose this could
be the same guy eh?

    I think it's great that these rocking guys from the old Whiteheart
    band got recognized.  The guitarist Gordon Kennedy and bassist Tommy
    Simms are the same guys as the ones in Whiteheart, great players.
    I was commenting to my 16 son guitarist how he's one of the few who
    knows these guys as he loved listening to them 6-7 years ago.

    Jo Anne Hollis (my wife's sister) lost her battle with cancer on 
    Easter Sunday, March 30, 1997, but won a greater victory, entering 
    the church triumphant.
    
    Jo leaves her husband Bill, son Tony (age 16), daughter Dawn (age 14),
    four sisters, her mother, and a world of people who are richer from
    knowing her.  
    
    Jo's vocation was a teacher.  For a large part of the last 15 years she
    taught special needs kids (many with multiple disabilities) at a
    regional vocational high school.  She taught them living skills
    and the skills necessary for service jobs so that they could lead
    productive, independent lives.  She was recently named educator of the
    year by her school.  Two busloads of faculty and students came to her
    home (by then she was bed ridden) to present with the award.  She was
    heavily involved in both Boy Scouts and Girl Scouts, and most of all,
    her church, where she served as a sunday school teacher, lay minister,
    and started the Intensive Caring Unit (ICU)-- a lay group that provided
    out reach to members coping with illness, stress, depression, etc.
    
    Over 500 people attended her memorial service (in a church that seats
    about 250).
    
    Jo had been transitioned to hospice care about a month earlier. 
    
    I had told Jo of my entry in the conference and the responses I
    received either here or via electronic mail.  She (and my wife and I)
    very much appreciated the prayers and support.  I would like to ask
    again for your prayers of support for Jo's family.
    
    My wife commented that Jo's death on Easter was perhaps God's way of
    answering our prayers.  I believe that to be true.  I also think that
    it may be one more lesson that Jo is teaching us-- the power of the
    resurrection.
