Well, unfortunately, snowmobiling in NH this year is NOT getting good
ink. Yesterdays Lawrence Eagle Tribune had a fairly long article on the number
of serious accidents and fatalities so far this year (6). Comments by Ron
Alie of the NH F&G is that they've redeployed several F&G officers to the
Pittsburgh/Clarksville area because of the numerous reports of excessive trail
speeds and near misses and general poor adherance to Rules and Regulations.
He pointed out that he felt the 'attitude' of these drivers have
changed drastically the past few years. His suggestion is to have all
snowmobile violations count against your license and effect your insurance
rating (regarding your auto insurance). Right now, the only thing that counts
is if you are caught DUI.
Regards,
Chuck

There is a chance you'll see me on that channel 9 segment.
I sure as hell hope not though, (I was having too much fun.)
They always edit out the fools who yell out, "Hi ma!" and the,
"Hey, put me on TV!"

Last night I caught a piece on snowmobiling on TV. It was around 7pm
and I think it was ET or Hardcopy. The were focused on the Minnesota
and Wisconsin area. One area had something like 12 deaths in one week.
Same as here, high speed and booze.
The secretly tracked some guys doing a poker run, sponsored by a local
club, that started at a bar and each card stop was at another bar. One
guy had about 9 Rum&Cokes and was all over the trail(and road). They
spoke to a club official and he essentially "so what". These guys were
doing 80-90 bwtween stops and some were clearly shit-faced.
